Brooke is a current second year medical student who ran cross country/track in high school. In college at Notre Dame, she ran with the running club and ran her first marathon, which hooked her on the distance. Since then, she has run 7 marathons (to include virtual Boston this past September!). She continues to run local races while in medical school, and hopes to train for a half marathon once the pandemic is over.

Prior to medical school, she worked for a community health nonprofit in Greensboro, AL, where she discovered her passion for encouraging people of all ages and fitness levels to become more active. In her free time, she enjoys all things outdoors, including running, hiking, rock climbing, and cycling.

Mike Bezzerides

Michael is a 4th year medical student at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He grew up just outside of beautiful Napa, becoming interested in fitness even before his glory days of high school football that he should probably stop talking about at his age. Michael attended nearby UC Davis for undergrad, where he double majored in Biology and Psychology while receiving frequent exposure to the Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery specialties while playing on the Men’s Rugby team. Following graduation, Michael fulfilled a further desire to punish his body by serving eight years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps where he had the opportunity to enjoy trail running from the woods of Quantico to the San Diego coastline. Now in Nashville, Michael enjoys exploring and running through the numerous trails and state parks throughout Middle Tennessee while trying desperately to keep up with his younger classmates.
