Alexander Reed

Alex Reed is a medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix. He is passionate about exploring the fields of emergency medicine and radiology while maintaining a deep-rooted fascination with neurology and the complexities of the brain. Outside of academics and clinical work, Alex finds joy and balance in music, both as a creator and an avid attendee of live shows. Since the age of 16, he has embraced weightlifting as a cornerstone of personal growth, stress relief, and self-discipline. For Alex, fitness is not just a hobby but a lifelong commitment to health and self-improvement, providing a foundation of resilience throughout his medical journey.

Jack Peterson

Jack Peterson is a medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine. He is originally from San Diego, California, and spent most of his time either playing sports or going to the beach. He played collegiate basketball at Claremont McKenna College before transferring schools and earning a BS in Biology from Texas Christian University. Throughout his athletic career, Jack learned the importance of physical activity and its impact on mental and physical health. Now a medical student, he is diligent about making time for running, weightlifting, and pickup basketball throughout his busy schedule. As a founding member of Medicine in Motion, Jack is excited to help other students integrate physical activity into their lives, fostering a supportive community that encourages healthy lifestyles. He is passionate about using athletics to combat burnout and stress, and he looks forward to organizing events that bring students together through fitness.
Katrina Ostrom
Katrina Ostrom is a medical student at Creighton University - Phoenix. She was born in San Diego, but grew up in Tennessee and Montana where she played a variety of sports and found her passion for hiking, biking, and snowboarding. She went on to play college soccer at Claremont McKenna College where she graduated with a BA in Biochemistry. After college, she moved to Boston to work as a research technician at Massachusetts General Hospital, and additionally worked as a soccer referee and volunteer coach in the community there. Now, she volunteers at a nearby children’s clinic in Phoenix at an adaptive dance class for kids with various disabilities. She is passionate about the immense benefits of movement and exercise and enjoys sharing it with her community, so she is looking forward to continuing this mission with Medicine in Motion.

Rigel Hall

Rigel Hall is a medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. He is originally from San Luis Obispo, California, and went on to graduate from Gonzaga University in 2022 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Entrepreneurship. He is passionate about education in underserved communities, and his experiences volunteering in the Spokane school district inspired him to create a science outreach program, which he continues to lead. Participating in a variety of sports such as baseball, basketball, mountain biking, climbing, and surfing, Rigel saw first hand the health benefits, connection, and community that sport and exercise can bring. In medical school, you can often find Rigel running at the track with his fellow chapter leads, and he is excited to join Medicine in Motion to continue to build community through physical activity and movement.
Thomas On
Thomas On is a medical student at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona. Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, he graduated from Arizona State University in 2021 with a BS in Biological Sciences. Before medical school, he spent two years at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. Throughout his life, Thomas has enjoyed connecting with others through exercise and sports, including basketball, powerlifting, and running. Now, as a Creighton medical student, he founded the Medicine in Motion chapter at his school to foster a community for those who find movement to be a powerful tool for managing stress and building friendships.
